Belton Lake bow qualification
If you pull a Corps of Engineers archery deer permit for Belton Lake, you have to pass a proficiency test before you hunt. We run that test at the range for $50.
What the Corps requires
The 2026 Belton Lake Archery Deer Hunt permit sets these conditions:
- A proficiency test dated May 1, 2026 or later.
- A score of 80% or more.
- A scorecard signed by a range officer as proof.
- The lake office does not give the test itself.
- A required hunter orientation on November 6, 2026 at the Belton Lake Office, 3110 FM 2271, Belton.

How it works here
- Email info@1moarchery.com to set a time.
- Bring the bow and arrows you'll hunt with.
- Shoot the test with a 1MO instructor.
- Pass, and you leave with the signed scorecard the permit asks for.

What a passing score does not do
It shows you met the Corps' accuracy standard on test day. It does not enter you in the permit lottery, and it isn't a hunting license. You still need a Texas hunting license, and hunter education if your age requires it.
Hunting a different Corps lake? Check that lake's permit page for its own testing rules. Questions about the permit itself go to the lake office. See Hunting at Belton Lake.
