About 1 Mission Outdoors Archery

Our mission is to provide our communities with accessible space to discover and practice archery and the great outdoors.

Our story

A group of veterans started 1MO in 2023 with a simple idea: if you live around Fort Hood or anywhere in Bell County, you should have a place to shoot a bow outdoors.

We ran shoots and range days wherever we could, including the archery range at BLORA on Belton Lake through early 2026. Today our home range is in Salado, built and kept up by volunteers, with 3D targets, bag targets, bowhunting setups and the Armadillo walk-and-shoot course.

We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Nobody here is paid. The people who set the targets are the same people who coach your first shot.

Our home range

10233 Lark Trail, Salado, TX 76571

Members shoot during daylight hours. Anyone can visit with a $20 day pass. Groups, lessons and qualification tests are booked by email.

Who we serve

Archers from Salado, Killeen, Fort Hood, Harker Heights, Belton, Temple, Copperas Cove, Nolanville, Georgetown and Jarrell, and anyone else willing to make the drive.

That means first-timers and families, kids 6 and up, bowhunters getting ready for the season, competitive 3D and field shooters, and soldiers and veterans looking for a quiet place to put arrows downrange.

What we want to accomplish

  • Make archery easy to start. A bow in your hand and an instructor beside you, without buying gear first.
  • Keep the range open to everyone. Day passes and family memberships, so cost isn't what keeps anyone off the line.
  • Send hunters out ready. Practice from real setups, and the Belton Lake bow qualification run right here.
  • Grow the next instructors. USA Archery certification courses so more people can teach.
  • Bring Central Texas archers together. The Armadillo Buckle Series, qualifiers and community shoots through the year.

What we've done

We've hosted Texas ASA qualifiers, an IBO traditional tournament, a Texas State Archery Association field tournament and the Armadillo Buckle Series. Our volunteers include TPWD-certified Hunter and Bowhunter Education instructors. See every event.

How it's paid for

Memberships, event fees, sponsorships and donations. That money buys targets, keeps the range up and covers the cost of running the club. Volunteers do the rest.
